The Millennium Garages e-scooter service will be paused through the winter months.

Please keep an eye out for signage in the garage or check this webpage for more updates on the e-scooter program in the coming months.

Millennium Garages is excited to offer eScooters for parking customers! Getting around downtown Chicago has never been more fun!

eScooter rides are free for the first two hours of each ride. Additional time beyond two hours, is $2 for every two hours.

Rules of the Road

  1. The first 2 hours of each ride are free. Additional time is $2 for every 2 hours.
  2. eScooters are not allowed in the parking garage
    • All riders must be above 18 years of age
  3. eScooter Hours of Operation:
    • Mon – Fri: 7:00 am – 8:00 pm
    • Sat – Sun: 7:00 am – 6:00 pm
    • eScooters returned after the Hours of Operation will incur a $25 late fee. Refer to the RIDY App for more detail
  4. Ending Your Ride: You must complete your ride in the RIDY App. If your cell phone does not have connectivity:
    • Roll the eScooter outside the garage, turn your wi-fi off, restart the RIDY App and try again
    • Once you’ve ended the ride, lock the eScooter to the docking station and send a photo of the eScooter to support@rideridy.com.

How to use eScooters at Millennium Garages

  1. Sign up HERE to receive your eScooter access code via email
    1. You will receive an email within 10 minutes. Check your promotions folder
  2. Download the Ridy Application to your smartphone (iOS or ANDROID)

  3. In the Ridy Application, create your Ridy account
    1. Click “Sign Up”
    2. Enter requested information
    3. Click the menu in the upper left corner
    4. Click “My Fleets”
    5. Enter the “Fleet Code” you received in the email
  4. Navigate to the eScooter station. There are 2 eScooter locations:
    • Millennium Lakeside Garage lobby (5 South Columbus Drive)
      1. Enter at 5 South Columbus Drive, between Randolph & Monroe
      2. After the ramps, go east to Millennium Lakeside Garage entry gates
      3. After gates, take the first right
      4. Continue to the end of the section and turn right
      5. The eScooter Lobby is at 300 East Monroe Street
    • Grant Park South (325 South Michigan Avenue)
      1. Enter at 325 South Michigan Avenue
      2. After the entry gates, take a left
      3. Go past the first wall and take another left
      4. The eScooters are located next to the elevator
  5. Start eScooter rental & go to street level
    1. Scan the QR code located on the handlebar of the eScooter
    2. Enter credit card information
    3. Take eScooter to street level
      • At Millennium Lakeside, take the ramp to Monroe Street
      • At Grant Park South, take the elevator to Michigan Avenue
  6. Return your eScooter to the docking location and end ride before returning to your car
    1. Place eScooter in the docking station
    2. Lock eScooter to the docking station
    3. To end ride, take a photo of the docked eScooter and submit to the Ridy App
    4. Plug in the eScooter to charge for the next rider

Frequently Asked Questions

  • The first 2 hours of each ride are free. Additional time is $2 for every 2 hours
  • Please create a support ticket in the Ridy Application, or email support@rideridy.com with your full name, email address and mention you are with the Millennium Parking Garages
  • The eScooter is likely in use, low battery or requires maintenance. Please try another eScooter
  • You must be 18 years or older to ride eScooters
  •  
  • Use bike lanes to ride eScooters
  • Riders are not allowed in the garage,  on the Chicago Riverwalk or on sidewalks
  • To start your scooter ride, place one foot firmly on the baseboard and use your other foot to push off against the ground. Once you’ve gained speed, press the throttle near your right thumb to accelerate. Squeeze the hand brake to slow down when needed
  • We strongly recommend that you wear a helmet every time you ride the scooters
  • If you are making a stop at a destination, tap the “Pause” button in the application to turn off and secure the eScooter, which activates the anti-theft alarm
  • You are required to use the attached cable lock on the vehicle to secure the vehicle to a bike rack
  • You are responsible for returning the vehicle to the docking station at Millennium Lakeside Garage to complete the trip
  • To end the trip, take a photo showing the vehicle is properly parked and plugged into the charging station
  • Riders must use the cable lock to secure the vehicle to the charging station
  • If you are having issues returning the vehicle, please call or text 1-833-462-7439 (1-833-GO2-RIDY)
  • Every eScooter or bike comes with a cable and has a unique 4 or 5-digit code which is only visible when you select/tap the vehicle you are renting in the application
  • Riders must use this lock to secure the scooter/bike to a bike rack in order to park or pause their vehicles during their trip
  • If you are involved in an accident and need medical assistance, call 911. If the eScooter has been damaged, please file a report in the Ridy application. Select “Support” in the Ridy menu and press the “+” button. Click the “Accidents/Emergencies” option and fill out the form

The 111th City of Chicago Christmas Tree

The 111th Annual City of Chicago Christmas Tree in Millennium Park, will shine brightly near the intersection of Michigan Ave. and Washington St. from November 17th through January 7th.

Ice Skating at McCormick Tribune Ice Rink

November 15, 2024—February 2, 2025

Ice skating at the McCormick Tribune Ice Rink in Millennium Park returns November 17 through February 2, 2025 (weather permitting). DCASE presents free skating lessons (reservations required) from 9am-10am on most Saturdays and Sundays, teaching beginner and intermediate ice skating and hockey skills. Free lessons are made possible by the McDonald’s Active Lifestyles Endowment managed by the Millennium Park Foundation. 

Maggie Daley Skating Ribbon

A unique skating experience awaits you in downtown Chicago at Maggie Daley Park.  Enjoy skating on a ribbon, surrounded by trees, bushes and other natural aspects, with the city skyline in view. 

Reservations are required to skate whether you bring your own skates or rent them.

Millennium Park Sing-Alongs in Wrigley Square

Bundle up and belt out songs in celebration of Chicago’s diverse holiday traditions in Millennium Park’s Wrigley Square on Fridays, December 6, 13, and 20. Each week features a local Chicago choral group leading guests and families in song. Sing-alongs begin at 6pm. The Holiday Sing-Along is made possible by the Millennium Park Foundation with generous support from the Pritzker Foundation.
